Fourth Winter

Fourth Winter
Cold skies, cold water, and cold snow.
Warm sweaters, warm cocoa, and warm fireplaces.
A delicate balance.

Hibernation, and, for some, isolation.
Looking out at a sparkling wonderland,
Shining bright in the darkness.

Third Autumn

Third Autumn
A cool breeze blowing in.
A crisp kind of air,
To go with crispy leaves.

Leaves of various colors
Fall to the cooled ground
And we await what comes next.

Second Summer

Second Summer
An unforgiving heat.
Bright, sunny days.
Barbeques & lemonade.

Summer brings the fun.
Baseball played under the sun
Creates memories forever cherished.

First Spring

First Spring
A newness.
A freshness.
A hope for something better than before.

Spring takes us back into the sunlight
And its warmth
Brings tearful smiles to our tired faces.

"Time to read kiddos."

"Time to read kiddos."
In the air
Of a quiet class,
Rings the soft, sweet melody
Of smooth jazz and classical compositions.

Playing through the minds
Of reading students,
Is the magic
Of the written word.

Just Getting Started

Just Getting Started
A feeling of accomplishment
Pushes me to the next precipice,
But for the first time
I look out at the next challenge
And dare it to try and stop me.
This is my destiny.
My dream to chase,
And I step forward,
With hope,
With courage,
A feeling of genuine self-worth.
